The Nakuru Lake Park is known for its “flamingo lake”. Unfortunately, there is not enough food anymore in the lake to let them stay there. Usually, the lake is full of flamingos but we were still very impressed by those beautiful pink birds.
Nakuru Lake Park is situated around a huge lake (captain obvious). That’s why, you can see a lot of bird species and reptiles.
Nakuru was my first safari. I remember being so excited just by seeing a zebra. My sister (who lives in Kenya) could not understand my excitement and she was always saying: “you’ll see, in Masai Mara, the safari is even more unforgettable”. And she was actually right. But I’m still very amazed when I see one.
“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the lion or a gazelle – when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.” (C. McDougall)
